The Town of Slave Lake is a thriving community of about 7,000 people who enjoy the advantage of living in a modern urban community surrounded by the lush forests and numerous lakes. Slave Lake is located on the eastern end of Lesser Slave Lake, an ideal family holiday destination and one of Alberta's best recreational playgrounds. The Town is a service centre to more than 15,000 people, and supports three major industries: forestry, oil & gas and tourism.

Slave Lake is located at the junction of primary highways #2 and #88. It is only a 2.5 hour (250 km) drive north of the City of Edmonton and is 3.0 hours (300 km) east of the City of Grande Prairie.
